• Welcome!

Having photographed weddings in San Diego and Orange counties for several years, my approach to wedding photography is simply to tell each couple's story through pictures.  For me, the technical aspect to what I do is important and I strive for sharp, rich images.  But more than that, I am all about capturing connections and emotions.  These are the types of images that I love - and that will always trigger an emotional response in me when I view the pictures years later.  The style I work in is called photojournalism, and what this really means is that I mostly capture candid images.  I don't like to interrupt the emotional flow of a couple's wedding and I'm always moving around to look for those timeless "in the moment" images.  What makes me unique is the vision I have in my approach to capture these moments.

Shanley & Josh :: A Balboa Park and Ocean Beach Engagement Session

Shanley and Josh recently booked us for their Winter 2012 wedding.  I met Shanley when I shot her sister Lacey’s wedding in November 2009.  We started up in Balboa Park and walked around there for about 45 minutes, then headed over to Ocean Beach for sunset.  Josh is in the Marines and is about to set off for 6 weeks of training in North Carolina.

I always ask couples to share a funny story with me and when I read Shanley’s story I burst out laughing.  In her own words…

We had only been dating about a month when we went bowling together for the first time.  It was my turn to bowl and as soon as I got up and started to walk toward the bowling balls Joshua (with a mouth full of coke) sneezed all over me! The back of my shirt was covered in sneeze/coke, but instead of getting disgusted I just burst out laughing.

Jamie + Zac :: A Paradise Point Wedding

Jamie and Zac had their wedding recently at the beautiful Paradise Point resort in San Diego.  Jamie had won the iPod Touch that I gave away to people who registered at the January Bridal Bazaar.  The reception went well into the night, everyone was having such a great time.  This was the second wedding of our weekend and by the end we were exhausted, but were grateful that we got to spend the weekend at two really fun weddings.

Amy - Love the photos! Gorgeous!

Rachel and Ben :: Love, Glamour, and Papparazzi

I’ve been looking forward to Rachel and Ben’s wedding for a while now.  When we initially met for their consultation, their creative sensibilities was very apparent and I LOVE working with creative people.  The style they described to me for their wedding was red carpet, theatre, and yet very intimate and expressive of who they are.  Their wedding was at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido and it was beautiful, emotional, fun, unique, and stylish.

They met while working at the Hotel Solamar.  Shawna and I shot their engagement session downtown in June.  Check out their engagement photos.

Amy and Steve :: A Coronado Engagement Session

There wasn’t much that Shawna and I needed to do to help Amy and Steve have a good time during their Coronado engagement session yesterday.  We would set them up in various ways and just let them have a good time, which came naturally to them.  We spent two hours with them around Centennial Park and then under the Coronado bridge.

Amy and Steve have been together for 12 years and have 3 kids together and have chosen to tie the knot on 11-11-11.  what an easy anniversary date to remember;-)

Jen and Chris :: An Orfila Winery Wedding

Jen and Chris were married last Friday at the beautiful Orfila Winery in Escondido.  What a gorgeous day, and the site and decor were amazing!  The theme for their decorations was based on their love for music: custom-designed guitar picks, CD’s of the wedding soundtrack played by the DJ.
